1. Ex reactione N-formanilidi et dimethylsulfastis obtentum. N-formanilidum et dimethylsulfas misce, solutionem hydroxidi kalii guttatim adde, agitando et refrigerando, et temperaturam infra 15°C modera. Post additionem guttatim completam, agitationem per horam unam ad 20-25°C continua. Mixtura reactionis leviter alcalina fit. Ammoniam concentratam lente guttatim adde ut dimethylsulfas superfluus dissolvatur. Deinde stratificationem sine, oleum superius ex libro chemico sume et sub pressione reducta distilla, et fractionem 130-133°C (2.13kPa) collige, quae est N-methylformanilidum, cum proventu circiter 90%. 2. Ex reactione N-methylanilini et acidi formici obtentum. N-methylanilinum, acidum formicum et toluenum misce, calefac et distilla, et postquam aqua vapore eliminatur, temperaturam ad 108-110°C eleva ut toluenum vapore eliminetur. Residuum sub pressione reducta distilla ut productum perfectum obtineatur.
