MTBE proprietates frigidae initii et accelerationis gasolinae emendare potest sine effectibus adversis in vaporis obstructionem. Quamquam methyl tert-butyl aether valorem calorificum humilem habet, probationes incessus demonstraverunt usum gasolinae 10% MTBE continentis consumptionem cibustibilis 7% reducere posse et quantitatem plumbi et CO2 in gasibus exhaustis significanter reducere, praesertim emissiones hydrocarbonicorum aromaticorum polycyclicorum carcinogenicorum. Ut materia prima ad synthesim organicam, isobutylenum altae puritatis produci potest. Etiam ad 2-methacroleinum, acidum methacrylicum et isoprenum, etc. producendum adhiberi potest. Praeterea, etiam ut solvens analyticus et agens extractionis adhiberi potest.
